About

I'm Jonathan Nelson, founder of Cascadia Community Energy. Born in Portland and raised in Wilsonville, I'm excited for the opportunity to expand customer choice for clean energy in my home state with Community Solar! A little about me:

• My maternal grandmother was a poet and the first woman mayor of Milwaukie, Oregon in the 70's.
• I caught my first king salmon bobber fishing with my dad on the Wilson River when I was 4 years old. It was 45 pounds and broke the pole.
• I played football and lacrosse at Wilsonville High School and was part of the team that won Wilsonville's first OSAA football championship at Autzen Stadium in 2004.
• I've been developing community-scale solar projects in Oregon since 2017.

At Cascadia Community Energy, our mission is to make solar energy easy, affordable, and accessible for all. We connect households and businesses with locally-developed community solar projects, empowering you with savings and a reduced environmental footprint. All without the hassle of rooftop installations or steep upfront costs.

Rooted in the belief that sustainable change starts close to home, our mission is to bring you local, clean energy at discounts only solar can provide. You save money, and together we build a more resilient and energy diverse system.

Join us in harnessing local power today, building a bright future, one community solar subscription at a time.
